Forget rumours of Geri Halliwell releasing a cover of Madonna's Cherish. It has been revealed that the former Spice Girl is, in fact, going for a harder edge on her third and as-yet-untitled album. She is aiming for a sound like Dido's with a hint of soft rock - hence the cover of then 70's classic Substitue, which was first released by one-hit wonders Clout in 1978.
A source in the Geri studio said, "She brings in all kinds of records that inspire her. This is going to be a Geri album we won't forget."
