Former chart-topper Geri Halliwell will be spicing up this year's Illuminations switch-on ceremony next week.
The one-time Ginger Spice has been revealed as the celebrity who will flick the switch on Friday September 3.
She first sprang to fame as the flame-haired and outspoken member of the "girl power" group who became the first pop stars ever to have their first six singles go straight to number one in the UK.
She left them in 1998 for a solo career and scored six top 20 hits including Scream If You Wanna Go Faster which hit the charts three years ago.
Joining Geri will be Darren Hayes, McFly, Lemar, Jimmy Osmond, the cast of Boogie Nights and Mark Radcliffe.
Blackpool's tourism director Jane Seddon said: "We are very excited with the line-up and the fact that Geri Halliwell will be throwing the switch.
"Radio 2 has worked extremely hard to ensure an excellent line-up and we are delighted.
"I agree it is quite close to the night but, as always, the celebrity has to fall in with Blackpool.
"Radio 2 has to ensure the availability of the performers and the switch-on celebrity before any announcement can be made.
"It has been even closer than this in the past."
Lewis Carnie, Radio 2's head of live music, events and talent, said today: "We are delighted to continue our association with the Blackpool Lights switch-on again this year.
"It is a major event in the North West and one that we immensely enjoy being part of."
