British royal Prince William has spurned the launch of a book about his late mother Diana, Princess of Wales to go partying with former Spice Girl, Geri Halliwell.
The heir to the throne, 22, was invited to Wednesday's launch of Diana: The Portrait - the first authorised biography of the princess - three weeks ago, but told organisers he couldn't go because he'd arranged to go to Halliwell's favourite London nightclub Boujis, reports Britain's The Sun newspaper.
He's fancied the singer since they met in 1997 for the premiere of Spiceworld: The Movie and was devastated to discover she had left the club before he arrived.
Diana's close friend Mike Whitham complains, "I am disappointed he could not attend the book launch. I have spoken to at least three other charities represented by Diana and they have expressed their disappointment too."
The Prince's friend says, "Wills was really pissed off. He wanted to spend time with Geri. He has always fancied her."
William's brother Price Harry, 19, was unable to attend the book launch because he is travelling in Africa and the Princess's ex-husband Prince Charles has official business in Ulster.
