Geri has snubbed the chance to work with Erasure frontman Andy Bell - after trying to credit his songs to her name.
Geri - whose most recent singles have failed to reach the top of the charts - was sent a batch of potential hit tracks from the 'A Little Respect' singer who was keen to help expand her pop career.
However Bell was quick to retract his offer when the 32-year-old star asked if she could rework the tracks and be credited as a co-writer.
A source says, "These were fully formed songs so it did not make sense for talks to continue."
