The Spice Girls have finally decided to shun their slot at Live 8 - even though the majority of the girl group were desperate to be involved.
Sir Bob Geldof was keen for the former hitmakers to perform at the anti-poverty concert, but the only stumbling block was MELANIE BROWN, who was reluctant to take up his offer after starting a new life in Los Angeles.
However, Geri is distraught that she and fellow bandmates Victoria, Emma and Melanie C will miss out on the extravaganza.
She says, "I would love to be part of Live 8. I'm so sad I won't be there - or the other girls who really wanted to. Only four of us could make it."
