Friends of Geri are fearing for her health after she bought boxes of laxatives in LA. The troubled redhead, 33, overcame her battle with bulimia in 2002. And she revealed her struggle to accept her new, fuller figure in her second autobiography, Geri: Just For The Record. But pals believe the bevy of skinny Tinseltown beauties surrounding the former Spice Girl have caused her eating disorder to return. And we’re told Geri’s been increasingly concerned about her image since June, when her latest album, Passion, flopped. Our Stateside spy said: "Geri’s a bit intimidated by the stick insects in LA. "But she looks great at the moment and doesn’t need to lose any weight. Her solo career’s not doing very well, though, and that’s really getting her down. All the stars in the charts are tiny, and she’s worried her voluptuous body isn’t what fans want. "It’s such a shame, because she was really happy with herself before she came over here. She was enjoying her food again. She promised pals she’d look after herself. "But she’s become really self-conscious. Her pals want to give her all their support so she doesn’t return to her old ways." So do we. And hopefully the ginger whinger’s just suffering a bit of old-fashioned constipation ... I hope Duncan James knows what he's getting into as he helps Geri choose her knickers. The old flames went lingerie hunting this week in downtown LA, sparking rumours of a fresh romance between the pop pair. My spies spotted the ex-Spice Girl and the Blue boy heading into posh Victoria's Secrets in The Grove shopping mall. And I'm told: "Geri and Duncan looked like any other couple shopping for underwear together. "There was a definite chemistry between them." I revealed 18 months ago that Geri and Duncan had become more than just good friends. But with Dunc still dating long-term partner Anya Lahiri. they went to great lengths to keep their fling quiet. Sadly, despite a string of hush-hush dates, Geri and Duncan's fling didn't last. Unusual for Geri... Duncan then went on to father a child with former sweetheart Claire Grainger. His baby daughter Tianie Finn was born in February and rumours were rife that Claire and Dunc were going to try to make a go of their relationship. Not so, it seems. Meanwhile, unlucky-in-love Geri continued to work her way through the Who's Who Of Showbiz directory ticking off Chris Evans and Robbie Williams along the way. There then came a doomed dalliance with Pop Idol loser and professional smoothie Darius Danesh. The pair managed to keep it together, while lying through their teeth, for a few months before the Scot went running for the hills. Still, Geri managed to remain on friendly terms with Duncan.
