Friends of Geri are fearing for her health after she bought boxes of laxatives in LA. The troubled redhead, 33, overcame her battle with bulimia in 2002.
And she revealed her struggle to accept her new, fuller figure in her second autobiography, Geri: Just For The Record. But pals believe the bevy of skinny Tinseltown beauties surrounding the former Spice Girl have caused her eating disorder to return.
And we’re told Geri’s been increasingly concerned about her image since June, when her latest album, Passion, flopped.
Our Stateside spy said: "Geri’s a bit intimidated by the stick insects in LA.
"But she looks great at the moment and doesn’t need to lose any weight. Her solo career’s not doing very well, though, and that’s really getting her down. All the stars in the charts are tiny, and she’s worried her voluptuous body isn’t what fans want.
"It’s such a shame, because she was really happy with herself before she came over here. She was enjoying her food again. She promised pals she’d look after herself.
"But she’s become really self-conscious. Her pals want to give her all their support so she doesn’t return to her old ways."
So do we. And hopefully the ginger whinger’s just suffering a bit of old-fashioned constipation ...
